And the iPad goes to…

Congratulations to our latest prize winner, Rachel Hanson. She wins an iPad and begins her journey whiling away the hours on Apple’s latest gadget. We spoke to Rachel when her name was pulled out of our proverbial “cyber-hat” and quizzed her on her literary tastes.

Where are you from and what do you do?
I’m from Ogden, Utah. I work as a copy editor/writer for a weekly newspaper.

Have you ordered from AwesomeBooks in the past and if so, what do you like about shopping with us?
I’ve placed one (enormous) order from AwesomeBooks. I love shopping and browsing at AwesomeBooks because you give me access to authors and titles that I wouldn’t have had access to otherwise, whether they’re new books or old favorites that are published exclusively in the UK.

What are you currently reading?
I just finished “Magic for Beginners” by Kelly Link. Her stories are so haunting and creepy that I had to follow that up with a favorite from one of my favorite authors, Sarah Dessen. I’m reading “The Truth About Forever” by her right now.

What is next on your ‘to read’ list?
“Where She Went” by Gayle Forman. I love teen literature, and was blown away by Forman’s first book, “If I Stay”. I can’t wait to devote time this weekend to the sequel.

If you could recommend a book to anyone, what would it be and why?
I recommend “East of Eden” to everyone. It is my favorite book of all time. It’s a little bit of everything – big questions, soap opera-level drama, family saga, historical setting.

If you could be a character from a book, who would you be and why?
I would like to be one of Agatha Christie’s intrepid heroines, maybe Anne Beddingfeld from “The Man in the Brown Suit.

Big thankyou to Rachel for taking some time out to answer our questions. It is great to see someone with such an obvious passion for books winning the prize…we’re pretty sure one of these days its going to go to someone who spends more time in front of their Xbox than a dusty old tome! A new competition will be underway shorty, keep checking our homepage regularly for more details.

About AwesomeBooks

In 2004, AwesomeBooks was founded by a group of people who loved reading and wanted to spread the love with like minded bookworms. Having found a way to source low cost books, we've been battling hard at Awesome to keep prices low, and grow our range of titles. Since then, we haven't looked back and now supply over 2 million new and used book titles to our fantastic band of loyal customers (the number of books you guys order still amazes us, thanks!). Along the way, we have realised that the love of reading is so much more than buying books - our goal is to share this passion with our customers in as many different ways as possible.
